You’ll undoubtedly need another one after this one and eventually be told you need a CPAP machine.
It’s a money maker.

I’m curious. Do you feel the same way if you go to the doctor, have high blood pressure, and he puts you on meds? Is he in the pocket of Big Pharm? Do you think I’m randomly grabbing people off the streets and forcing them to have this study? Don’t you think the Doc has a reason for ordering the test?

I shite you not, several years ago I had a doc tell me that he wasn't going to write for APAP as much as in the past. He said he was losing too much money on not re-studying his patients.
Now if your AHI isn’t 30+ and/or you don’t have a central apnea AHI of at least half of your total AHI, insurance companies reject the titration study and demand APAP. Which I’m fine with honestly, because I want the integrity of the field kept. Stop ordering unnecessary studies when APAP will work.

Why yes he does.
He’s making easy money from the insurance.
Years ago the heart clinic I go to ran everyone and I mean everyone though a sleep test.
I heard a doctor tell a patient that questioned the test that if he didn’t want to listen to him to go find another doctor. Straight up..
The facility doing the test had a business right next door that sold CPAP machines.
No one I know of ever saw or knew of the doctor that was supposedly reading these test.
You or no one will ever convince me it isn’t about milking the insurance company.
I’m not even gonna start about the pharmaceutical kickbacks.
That’s all I have to say.
