I did my own figuring from a cheap thermometer on my porch. It hit 96° and according to what was on the humidity gauge on it and the dew point calculator I used, we hit 78° dew point.

The kicker was that when I went and found a Heat Index calculator and plugged in those numbers it said "Extreme Danger! The heat index is 133°"

I'm not going outside until late October now. Maybe I need to spend more than $7 on a thermometer.

I'm not falling for this shite again.

Pretty sure we had 3 or 4 “cool fronts” expected last year and got nothing but sweaty butthole heat until mid fall.

I don't care what you say, Boat....the 94% humidity this morning sucks.

78°/75.5° is fricking miserable.

They're not allowed to change it... Especially just to appear that they are accurate.

From Nick Mickulas:

quote:

It’s becoming increasingly likely, that sometime late Tuesday or early Wednesday, we will have the very rare, early August cold front. Let’s be honest. There’s nothing cold about it. It’s a “less hot” front. This probably brings our temperatures into the 88-90 range for highs, and lows to the 67-71 range. The most important, and noticeable factor is that we will see a 10-15 degree haircut on dew points. Which will make things quite tolerable for our area. So yes, we are looking forward to “tolerable”. Because whatever this terminal heat bath we are in now is fit for no one. And I know I’ll get a few people that say they like 108 degree heat indices. That just seems to me like the people that eat a ghost chili pepper, have a bright red face for ten days with tears streaming down as they choke on the capsaicin laiden air, then look around and say “that wasn’t so bad”.
The front will also bring 1-2 inches of rain, and maybe a few strong storms Monday evening into Tuesday. But we are waiting for that glorious, fairly decent weather we’ve been so deprived of.
