has anyone received a 5071c letter from the irs before?

i went to the website and answered the questions. it said we appreciate your help identifying that the return filed under your identity isn't your own.
so what should i do know? a credit check? kind of worried about identity theft now but this is the only letter we have received.

My father just got a letter stating that some one tried to file a claim with his SS#
luckily he already had them done and finished.
Seems like people who do hr block, jackson hewitt, are the ones that have more irs fraud done to them???? Or so it seems.

thanks oweo been there read that...just didn't know what other steps i should take to check and make sure nothing has been compromised.

i had someone local that's been doing them for 30 something years do mine. she did mine last year as well.

my wife had that issue - a few times, she got a subscription to lifelock.
