He didn’t pass out due to fear. He passed out due to the G forces pulling blood away from his brain during acceleration.
jbgleason, thank you! But you are only partly right. As was I. See below (Quora article)

Your body does have an innate fight or flight reaction, its called Vasovagal Syncope.
TigerFan4040, thank you! Good link (Mayo Clinic).

QUORA: Why do people pass out on the Ultimate Slingshot ride?

If you watch the videos of those who pass out on the ride, it appears to me to be a combination of Vasovagal Syncope, g-force issues (especially since the ride features large positive and negative G’s in quick succession), and, something not mentioned, adrenaline letdown.

Some people pass out just as the ride shoots off. Probably Vasovagal Syncope.

Others pass out as it comes back down for the first time. Probably their body not handling large, competing g forces in quick succession.

But MANY others don’t drop off until the ride is almost over. They built up all this adrenaline for the ride, and it’s almost over, and suddenly their body shuts down. This happens in MANY places and ways. Ever had an aggressive interaction that got your heckles up? Once you blew off the steam and calmed down, did you feel like you just really wanted to sleep? When I had one particular body piercing (nothing that weird, get your mind out of the gutter!), while I didn’t think I was that nervous going in, when it was done, I almost blacked out when I stood up. Adrenaline letdown. The sudden withdrawal of certain hormones. At least at the studio I could just sit back down and say “I need to stay here for another minute.”
