The entire Western paradigm concerning the sexes/marriage is inherently in the best interests of women . When either spouse subjugates their own human growth to the other it becomes oppressive. My personal experience after 25 years of marriage and observation of many marriages is that most women seek to exert more control over their husband’s lives as they age. Many will seek to make their lives very SMALL which is that whole “ happy wife “ bs within the home and most men will seek to have more experiences beyond their wife’s control. Many women become tyrants at home over time and they don’t even realize it. It becomes their fiefdom.Which is why men work late and hunt and fish etc.

Well, it's men that misinterpret that. A lot of men think the way to have a happy wife is to be a doormat, and that's the opposite of what any woman wants.

All you gotta do is look at Harry. Being a Prince did not save him. So many saw thru the actress, doing what she does best. Why didn't he? A happy life endures willing compromise & help on both sides. Hopefully you can grow old together & smile. It's not a matter of being women's lib or chauvinist.

Married for 16 years and could not be happier. You got to pick the right one that’s what is important. We have mutual respect for each other. I treat her like a queen and she treats me like a king.
