I was told I could pick my PSL and get an offer as long as it wasn't sperry
All anyone told me was not to pick Boots n coots under any circumstances. My next choice would be the PSL that handles the down-hole perforations. I don't know why, but the concept of pushing the button on explosives 3000 ft below the ocean floor just sounds really f&%king cool to me.

I picked slickline and got an offer. Ended up turning it down.

The job I'd really like to have is being a company man on a rig. I had interviewed with Chevron for a program that would lead to such a position due to my construction background dealing with both engineers and field personnel, but I didn't have the GPA. Some reps for Exxon wanted me for their version of that career track, but my GPA was too low for them to even let me interview. The guy said, "I'd pick you for a second interview today if it weren't for the GPA. Come back with 3 years experience."

Been there. I had a crap GPA.
Still had plenty of opportunities at graduation. I wouldn't sweat it.

I'm good now, graduated with just over a 3.0, was accepted to law school (had scholy offer from Loyola), and had 2 job offers, but none making oil field money.
