I let him talk for about 30 seconds, and then told him that he had to leave. He had this blank stare in his eyes, it made me think that he had experienced first hand all the horrors that mankind is capable of.

Immediately my mind raced; was he some sort of ancient demon parading as a Vivint sales rep? Was he mentally disturbed? Or was he simply the accumulation of Western Civilization's collective neurosis? Had he completely lost his identity while traveling door to door, witnessing the horrors of American suburbia?

"Why are you upset?" he breathed, as I took a step back.

My heart skipped as I realized that I had upset this deadly serpent from ancient times. Slowly, steadily, he opened his J. Crew satchel while never breaking eye contact with me. Sweat poured down my brow as I started to re-trace my life's story. It had been a good life, and it was a shame that no one would fully know the terror at the end. Certainly this vesper had appeared to others, and all had certainly met the same fate as I was about to.

His sickly hand produced from the satchel a late model iPod touch. Still he never looked away from me. He quickly dialed in his passcode and the last words I heard from him were:

"Everyone get on the floor and do the dinosaur".
