Good, now they can use all their resources to focus on hard drugs and violent crime.

I believe this same situation is going on in Texas. City of Austin has already said they won’t do anything about small amounts

They should tell that to the Williamson county deputies...those motherfrickers bust people for a seed on the floorboard.

City of Denton did the same thing due to budget shortages and no funding for testing.

Yea people south of the border, Gwinnett went blue last year and it’s no secret why. People wonder why I’m so staunchly against all forms of immigration.

Pretty sure they're going to have to rename it to STONED Mountain. LOL!

Stone Mountain is in Dekalb, not Gwinnett.

Not a bad effort though

Yeah, there are a few municipalities that will continue to “fight the good fight” but I’m sure they’ll come around one day.

They’re just banging their heads into a brick wall from a law enforcement perspective by making arrests that can’t be successfully prosecuted. It’s dumb and I’m glad Gwinnett has realized that.

What's a small amount? Theoretically, how would one go about obtaining a small amount, given that they don't really know of anyone who partakes?

Asking for a friend of course.

Same thing is happening in Florida. Gainesville has dropped all of their marijuana cases. Florida doesn't have any in state labs that can distinguish between hemp and marijuana and the cost to do out of state testing for every marijuana arrest is too prohibitive. Hemp is also causing Florida to change how it conducts probable cause vehicle searches. The smell of marijuana alone is no longer considered probable cause because there is no difference between the smell of burning marijuana and hemp. So a cop can't base a search solely on scent. It is affecting drug dogs too for all types of drugs because as they are currently trained they can only notify a cop of the scent of a drug, not a particular type. So if the dog smells cocaine and alerts the cop, the cop has no way of knowing if the dog was actually smelling legal hemp. Therefore hemp is getting cases that began with a drug dog thrown out if the state can't provide any other reason for the search.
