Guy dies in Ouachita jail who was arrested while on meth

OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) -- A Ouachita Correctional Center inmate has died while in custody.

Deputies say they arrested a suspect on 5/10/17 on obstruction of justice, resisting arrest by violence and a traffic charge. They say they believed the man was under the influence of meth during the stop.

They say the man was taken to a local hospital where he refused treatment. After being booked, deputies believed he did in fact need treatment and took him back to the hospital where he later died.

His identity is being withheld at this time until the next of kin is notified. An autopsy is being performed.
