Oh, so sorry, I'll get right on that, Mr Gambini

Dude, I know nothing about uber. I know it's a hot topic on here just by the number of threads daily. I was told a story by someone in a "guess what happened to us this weekend" kinda way. I thought the OT would find it interesting. I posted. The end. Not trying to hurt your stock options, geez

I can tell you, if somebody had even 1 DWI at any point within the last 10-15 years they will not get hired
I know someone who got a DWI 8 years ago and she drives for Uber.

You guys make it sound like taxi drivers are cho Jr boys. I used to work with a guy that drove cabs part time. He served time at Angola for armed robbery and attempted murder. Admittedly his criminal activity was years ago when he was younger, and he is completely reformed.

That would suck. I guess that's a flaw about Uber. I imagine it's easy to share an account whereas a taxi license is not transferable.
I don't see how they could share an account since you get a picture of the driver and car that's coming to pick you up. Wouldn't think Uber would allow them to modify driver profile pic at will.

When I was in Vegas in November, I got to talking to the taxi cab driver. He was telling me about the "business". He was saying that whatever the driver makes on each shift, the taxi cab company gets half of what they bring in plus $1 for each person they drive. In other words, if he drives 5 people on a shift and brings in $100. He owes the cab company $50 plus $5 then they have to pay to fill up the cab, which they purchase from the cab company.
Anyway, Uber came up and he was telling us how Vegas banned the service. Something happened and basically the cab unions was able to use it to get Uber banned. But from what I understand, Uber is like a franchise. Anyone can start an Uber franchise and the person who starts their own franchise is responsible for the drivers they have working under them. Uber doesn't really much of a screening in terms of who can drive for them.

I know someone who applied for Uber in NOLA. He has a DWI and hit and run from a few years ago. He was denied.

Had a weird uber Saturday night. Sat in the front seat and tried to start a convo. Guy wasn't having it and didn't say a word the entire trip. On a side note I'm pretty sure the guy was practicing for the Indy 500.

We had an old uber driver in birmingham a few months ago. Dude couldn't follow the gps to get us back to our house. So my roommate would up driving us home in the uber car.
