Greenspace or Redevelopment

Why is it perfectly ok to tear shite down and redevelop vast amounts of land for residential and retail purposes, but no one ever mentions green space anymore. That was a hot topic in the 90's. We had to "save the trees" back then, but now it's build, build, build!

What are you rambling about?

Imagine nothing but trees on Florida Blvd

This is completely dependent upon the local planning commission for where you reside.

The term green space wasn't even invented until 2003.

Greenspace. More tree and green and less concrete.

Green space doesn’t generate income. Development does.

Trees are the original renewable resource. I get it if the tree is some 150 year old oak or one of those massive redwoods but most trees are not that important.

Maybe not directly, but greenspace can be the catalyst of income for surrounding development.
If he weren't dead, you could ask Gerald Hines his thoughts on the matter.

All developments where I live must devote a certain percent of the land to greenspace. But there are ways around everything.
