Sound pretty whiney for something that is absolutely you’re fault, and although you acknowledge being a dumbass, it still must be said, you’re fricking retarded

Who the frick do you think you are to us that you need to tell us? The majority of people aren’t as damn dumb as you and don’t need that lesson. Regardless, it’s not a new story, everyone has heard it hundreds of times through our lives, except you I guess?

Meh. you'll get offered PTI. You'll have to do a counseling session, go to a class at the court house, some hrs of community service, and pay a fee.

Will cost you ~$1500

Not sure what parish/county you live in but in pretty much all of them, the entire pti program costs much more than 1,500.

Op, don’t waste 5-10k on a lawyer. Pti will cost you about that and you can scrub the arrest from your record in 5 years.

People make poor decisions when they drink and the number one poor decision is getting behind the wheel of a car.

Anyone that wants to raise the legal limit is a moron IMO. There are too many options available now. Uber, take a cab, call a service that provides rides, call a friend, etc.

Not the cops fault bro. Sounds like he had a legitimate reason to stop you.

Reminds me of watching live:pd. People know they are breaking the law and something as silly and as simple as a plate light or blinker leads to more serious consequences.

if you didn't blow or take field tests you will beat it. play the game, hire an attorney and plead it down to something else.

When they ask if you having a drinking problem, answer with, 'Only when I drive'..it's a legal inside joke.

Post that receipt of your bar tab baw. Even then, it still doesn't prove that you didn't drink more than you claim.

Edit: If you had that amount at 2:00 in the afternoon, how did the stop even get to DWI? Did he smell it and bring it up, or did he just start asking in general about weapons, drugs, alcohol etc ? Did you blow ? If you did blow, why? With a supposedly small amount drank you should have easily passed a standard field sobriety test. And easily should have been able to hemhaw around as long as possible for giving a sample back at the Troop or station. Damn you made it easy for "Barney Fife". Maybe you're the dumbass. I don't believe you had that much in 2.5 hours and got arrested unless you're anemic and coming off of dialysis or something.

Double edit: Can't even make it through entire thread - All Louisiana guys on the high horse about drinking 44 oz of beer at lunch.. give me a break. Why is Chimes packed on weekends at lunch in the bar? Same as you Fools who say "I don't know who eats McDonalds, its gross" well there is always a line wrapped around that motherfricker so some of you people are eating it.

I'll piss off the OT in saying that I did my best driving when I was over the limit. Two hands on the wheel, signaling every turn, cruise control set on the exact speed limit , etc. and I surely knew about any lights or blinkers not working.

Some folks can handle the liquor better then others. It's nothing I would condone.

This was years, thank God i never got caught.

Ever notice the ones who are most self-righteous about this are also the ones who try to type out War & Peace on a text message while driving. I do. I notice that.

It's one of the busiest times of the year with people out. Even if you're under the legal limit you can still kill someone and get a DUI.

Be glad you didn't get a DUI in AZ. AZ doesn't play around with them...you do some sort of jail time even with your first one.

quote:

Standard first DUI. Generally, drivers convicted of a first DUI must serve at least ten consecutive days in jail and pay fines and assessment of at least $1,250. If the violation involved alcohol (as opposed to drugs), the driver must install an IID, which remains in the car for at least 12 months following the completion of the license suspension.
Extreme DUI. An extreme DUI is a class 1 misdemeanor. Convicted drivers must serve at least 30 consecutive days in jail and pay a fines and assessment of at least $2,500. As with a standard first DUI, there’s a 12-month IID requirement for an extreme DUI conviction.
Super extreme DUI. A super extreme DUI is a class 1 misdemeanor. Drivers convicted of a super extreme DUI face at least 45 consecutive days in jail, fines and assessments of at least $2,750 in assessments, and a 12-month IID requirement.
Aggravated DUI. Drivers convicted of aggravated DUI must serve either ten to 45 days in jail or four to eight months in prison, depending on the type of aggravated DUI conviction. Convicted drivers also face at least $4,000 in fines and assessments, a mandatory 12-month license suspension, and if the DUI involved alcohol, there’s a 24-month IID requirement. All drivers convicted of aggravated DUI must complete drug screening and treatment; offenders who don’t comply risk being sent to prison for up to two years.

quote:

For some DUI first offenders, Arizona law permits judges to reduce the minimum jail sentence. A judge can reduce the minimum jail time to one day (instead of ten days) for standard first offenders who complete court ordered alcohol and drug screening and treatment. And a judge can reduce the minimum jail time for drivers convicted of extreme DUI to nine days (instead of 30 days) and super extreme DUI to 14 days (instead of 45 days) if the driver maintains an IID for a period of 12 months following conviction.

Good news is they usually allow you to do work release sometimes. Had a former coworker that did that. She got to leave jail to go to work but had to be at the jail within so many minutes of leaving work(obviously she couldn't drive back and forth to work).

And in Arizona iirc their drivers license is valid for like 80 years or something. So don't get a DUI and save the money

What? BAC goes down .005 every 15-20 minutes once you've stopped drinking and reached your peak.

Even the f dude was only at .10, which is the legally drunk, in most states....it would be 60-80 minutes before he was at .08 and legally able to drive.

I'm sure the cops would have been more than willing to let him hemhaw around...

It has to be renewed on your 65th bday. But you have to get your photo updated every so often.

You may not need brake tags or inspection stickers every year but they get you for vehicle registration every year. It's a % of what your car is worth. My registration the first year I got my jeep was like $650. This past year it was $350. Also...if you have a vehicle that is over 5 years old you have to get emissions testing done every other year and it has to pass or you won't be able to renew your registration.
