Which one is the best for the price? I qas told that the gopro hero 3 is a hundred dollars cheaper than the 4 but is basically the same. Want to use it for sporting events. Mount it to fence and record game from there.

Any suggestions? Want to record my daughters softball games. Have seen them being used before. Just looking for something with good picture quality without the bulky camcorder.

For doing what you want, I'd get a digital camera that can do video and jut put a large memory stick in.

Is the gopro better than the sj4000?

The GP will be fine for ballgames, in fact they make a mount that will go in fabric fencing (backstop). I see more and more HS's and small colleges using these and mounting them behind home plate.

Go pro shoots wide angles and unless you are up close (POV) it wouldn't be good for filming a ball game
