There is a right, productive way to do it and there are dumbass actives that cross the line and bring trouble. There are also weak-minded pledges that can't hack it. Best to get them gone...loose lips sink ships.

Yeah the discussion should be between two types of hazing, 1) harmless harassing, earn your place type of actions and 2) physical abuse including forced substance abuse .

Nowadays anything and everything is ridiculously lumped together as hazing.

Nobody cares anymore. Greek organizations will be snuffed out quickly so long as our universities remain liberal shitholes.

We used to put on boxing gloves and spar in the front yard. That would cause an epic shitshow today. To say nothing about the annual pledge-active tackle football game on the levee. The actives played downhill. The pledges played uphill. My pledge class scored the first, and as far as I know only, pledge touchdown ever recorded.

I went to an Alumni function and asked a pledge if he can grab me a beer. Not in a “pledge go get my shite way”, but he was at the ice chest and I had just sat down.

One of the actives told me that’s considered “hazing” now, and it’s bullshite.

So can’t hand you a beer, but killing or assaulting pledges is ok.

Makes sense
