He wrote it for 44 in a 35. Four lanes, divided with wide median and NOT in a residential area...
The exchange:
LEO: Do you know why I pulled you over?
LCA: I have no idea.
LEO: Do you know what the speed limit is?
LCA: 45?
LEO: No, it is 35.
LCA: I think I know why you pulled me over.
He laughed and we chatted amicably for a minute and I thought I was out of it....not so much.
ETA...He said he clocked me at 50...also I changed amiable to amicable...

The only Ticket that I've gotten in the last 20 years was right outside of Town.I got off the 4-Lane and was on the 2-Lane Service Rd. where they dare you to go 5 MPH over the Limit.
34 in a 25.
They wouldn't let me pay it early.I went to Court in what looked like Andy Taylor's Office in Mayberry.
Judge:Well I see you had a little rough patch from 79' to 85' but you haven't had a Ticket in 20 years.What happened?
Me: I grew up.
Judge: We all have.I'll Fine you the minimum $100.It cost $220 with Court Costs.
Heyyyyyyooooooooo......
