I played in a charity softball tournament about 3 years ago. My team was coed and it ranged from late 20's to early 40's in age. We played like 5 games by the end of the tournament everyone over 40 had injuries. Two injuries shoulders, one broken angle, a strawberry on a ladies leg that looked like a damn fruit rollup. Sucks getting old no more softball tournaments

My sliding days are coming to an end I hope. My left leg from ankle to knee is a scab. I used to have scabs on my left elbow, right hip (the worst, still have the scars) and left knee that would make most cringe. I stole a lot of bases and my go to was a sweep slide on the right and hitch the base with my left hand

I'm in my 40s and joined a work team last fall.

I played third base and scraped up my knee diving for a ball, tore off a fingernail making a tag on a sliding runner, and got spiked...in the first inning of the first game.

I'm too old for this shite.

I am early 40's also. Surfing and working out is my goto now. No more softball for me. Occasionally throwing some football with my boys and now my shoulder is sore for two days.
