Gonna try and play a mountain course this weekend west of Denve
Just got back, enjoyed Riverdale Dunes course and Ballyneal lived up to the hype, it was badass.

It's in good shape. Santa Maria was in good shape last week too. Greens weren't slow.
Just rolled well.

Nice. I bet Ballyneal was something else. Enjoy the rest of CO?

Yep had an awesome time, still recovering
yea Ballyneal wore my arse out, walked 36 Sunday and 18 Monday, first time I've walked in prob 15 years
that 97-99 degree dry heat isn't a joke....

That's how you gotta do it though. Any rain? Been so fricking wet here this spring. We were out hand watering today. Greens were TOASTY. About to go back to the course to throw some fertilizer.

Rain was coming across the mountains to us as we left Riverdale Dunes, never rained at Ballyneal, course was super fast. The good thing about Ballyneal is there was zero bad holes, all 18 were good holes, which is hard to find.
Riverdale was cart paths and rough only, couldn't drive on the fairways, but being able to take beaver tail divots was nice! They were just like Michigan, bent greens and fairways and Kentucky blue grass rough, MNC loved that rough, I was used to it from Michigan, it kicked my arse at first up there as well.

Interns usually have good luck getting on other courses if you email the super. Might have to give it a try for Ballyneal. Everything I've seen looks amazing.
Notice the altitude distance?
The divots are so juicy out here. Just cut pelts out. I love it.

Yea I was at least a club longer with the irons, hit some drives that I just laughed at, but playing at that elevation can be deceiving, I thought I could reach bunkers I couldn't and vice versa, it was good to play 18 in a cart and get adjusted to the change before walking 54 holes in a day and a half. Make the drive, it gets wicked when you are driving down a gravel road in the middle of BFE for 20-25 miles and only see one red light once leaving Denver
GPS runs out once you reach the gravel road, so leave early in the morning so you can find it.

Does anyone in here play timberlane in gretna often?
It seems like the best value in nola when you can get it for like $25 online.

Never heard of it.

I definitely gained the most distance on my driver. Balls just launch and stay in the air out here. Definitely throws you off when you first get out here.
#6 at DCC plays 351 from the tips. I've been within 20 yards of the green a ton and on the fringe once. The altitude is real.
Really excited to try one up in the mountains at even more altitude.

I heard it's not bad for the price

My next course needs to look like that. City setting is cool but nothing beats a golf course in an open setting.

Been lurking these threads for a while, figured I'd finally post.
Played English Turn today for the first time in forever. Getting ready for LGA 4ball there this weekend. Course was in great shape. Greens are perfect speed and hold as well as any greens I have ever played. Pretty hot, but enough wind to keep it from being too miserable. Heading back out there tomorrow, Sat and Sun.

Not even close to the Deep South, but I was huffing and puffing yesterday in NC and I'm skin and bones.

Wind handles the bunkers, all they did was mow greens and fairways and roll em, I think they have 10-15 employees in the maint dept besides the illegal immigrants fixing divots and etc between groups on each hole hiding in the fescue
