You need to time it correctly.
Sugar works faster but doesn't last as long. So a cookie will kick in after about a hour and last for four. Start with a 10mg.
Eat it early so you can enjoy the effects. Don't eat more than one. Think about something other than a sweet product. I make my own and start the day with some butter on a rice cake. Just go small dose. You don't need to drink on it. Look for a stativa strain. Indica might put you indacouch.
