I went on this exact boat and itinerary last April. It was a lot of fun. You'll get a paper each day with the activities and times listed out so you can plan what you want to do. Sneaking on booze is hit and miss, we got half of what we packed on board, then had our "housekeeper" person keep the ice chest full of ice on every visit.
Grand Cayman is beautiful, we did the stingray swim thing, which was interesting.
Jamaica is a total dump, maybe go snorkeling or something if you enjoy that, but I would avoid the island if possible.
Cozumel is very "touristy"....the mayan ruins excursion was ok, but not great.
Also as much as I hate to admit it, 90+% of the people on the boat are complete trash. You will have to wait in line behind hordes of 400+ lb monsters with their legions of screaming kids just to grab a burger and fries.

So far these are the excursions that we've looked at
Montego Bay
Rose Hall (for the wife)
Secrets Adult All Inclusive
Grand Cayman
Barrier Reef Snorkel
Cozumel
La Casa En Playa All Inclusive
I've seen the hoards of heifers from the YouTube videos I've watched.
All good info so far

Buy the drink pass ($30 if I remember). Unlimited soft drinks the whole cruise vs pay per drink.
Do formal dining with an assigned time/table and eat as much and whatever you want (i.e. 3 entrees, 5 desserts, etc)
Go to the shows. The aren't exactly high quality, but entertaining enough.
Live band karaoke is pretty cool.
The ship excursions are typically overpriced. However, if you decide to book one through the ship, do it before you get on board. They jack the price up 50% once your on the ship. Recommend looking online to find alternative excursions not done through the ship, but make sure they can have you back to the pier on time.
Sit by the pool during the sea days. Tons of arse everywhere.
Stay far far away from the on-board casino, and the spa/massage parlor. Complete rip-off.
Oh, and use the stairs (as mentioned above).
Check out the adult's only deck at the back of the ship. Best spot on the ship to relax. Also, check out the front of the ship on the top deck.
Lock your phone in your in-room safe and leave it there. Bring a digital camera for pictures. Way too many people waste their time on a cruise by looking down at their phone or playing games the whole time. Enjoy the trip.

If i had to guess this will be the highlight of your trip.
I wanted to do this, but compromised on the stingray thing b/c my fiance is terrified of swimming and deep water.

Take a multi vitamin everyday and you will feel a lot better in the mornings.

What's the deal with the elevators/stairs? Elevators death traps or just slow as hell?
Never been on a cruise...but just curious.

Been on several cruises and typically 2-4 people win anything on the cruise. The rest can play for about 10 minutes before their $20 is toast

It's rare that they are out of Nola. They are my choice as well.

They take forever b/c the giant trailer trash use them to go up and down one fricking floor. The entire entertainment area of the ship can be accessed in 3-4 floors, hardly worth the 5 minute wait for the elevator. Plus you're drinking and eating crap the whole time, so you might as well burn a few extra calories if you have the opportunity

smuggle liquor on
This is not going to be super easy, but not impossible either. Just know that your bags (carry on and checked) will be xrayed and they are looking for liquor. I tried to smuggle 5 bottles in 4 suitcases and they busted all but 1 bottle. I basically had to buy 90% of my alcohol from Carnival and better believe they are proud of those drinks. Couple that with the trashy food/people and I will not be going back on a Carnival cruise ever. Still managed to smuggle in a bottle from one of our stops though, so frick them. All in all we had a good time, but we aren't super uppity and it's all about what you make it. When you're booking the cheapest cruise line, don't expect to be surrounded by the higher echelons of society, that's all I'm saying.

We had a 50% success rate with these:

a 100% success rate with these:

and zero success with recorking the wine bottles.
The shambooze are really the way to go, you can sneak on quite a lot of liquor and there is shampoo provided in the room, so you don't even need to bring your own.

Carnival will price match if you find it cheaper on shore.

This is a MUST if you decide to taxi off... If your excursion is through the ship they will wait for you if transportation is delayed, but if you jump in a random taxi to some secluded beach in attempt to be cheap, they will leave your arse if you're late.

If you want to do the spa, go on a day when you're in port, like when you back from your excursion. They have deals.

So the rum runners filled 80% full with the air "burped" out of them and placed inside a pair of pants that are folded up inside the suitcase won't make it through?

Half of ours did and half didn't. They literally took some out and left some in of one our suitcase. I'm guessing they see it on the scanner then assume they got all of them when they take the first one out. You might as well try though, nothing to lose besides the booze.
