Morning everyone! I'm an aunt again! Brother's gf had the baby this am. Mom and baby with same birthday. All doing fine. They live in California so my brother gets 90 days paid paternity leave that he will use later on to bring baby to visit my parents.

Already called the unit my dad is on to talk to his nurse and tell her to let my dad know. Hopefully such news will cheer him up today.

Last night was bad...really,really bad.

Not sure if we will visit today. Will talk to his nurse later today to see how he is doing.

My dad was very delusional and paranoid. Telling me some plan had failed. Talking about everyone in the day room plotting against him. Saying their home is gone. Saying the hospital was trying to run some elaborate scam to get a dead body out. Made no sense at all. And each time I gently tried to let him know none of that happened, that he must have had a really bad dream earlier...he would get more agitated. We left early cause we were only making him more upset. I have NEVER seen him like that at all and made sure to let his nurse know that he has never exhibited behavior like this ever.

Maybe he got a uti in the hospital?

I feel your pain. My family is going through a psych crisis as well. Feel free to reach out if you need to vent
