I buy a half cow at a time from a local family. Comes vacuum sealed and labeled. The quality is exponentially better than what you can get in the stores. They sell to a local butcher shop, so that's where I go for extra steaks when I want them. Not much more $ than buying from Sam's, and you know what you're getting.

Cutters had Bryce Calloway last summer.
He was a stud at UNO this season.
It's cool to see a lot of guys' first action on the collegiate level, with many being true freshmen who didn't play or played sparingly in their first NCAA season.
Cutters had a great player out of high school last year: Mark Collins of Opelousas Catholic. That was impressive. American Legion has players who have finished their first college season, and here was this guy a few weeks removed from Class 1A ball.
ETA Owen Galt (Barbe) played for Lake Charles last summer. They had at least one or two more big names from Barbe.
He was a stud at UNO this season.

I remember frequenting a butcher shop outside of Church Point(might've been called Mire's). It was all local beef and vv good. I'll have to find something like that around here. I know of one outside Ocean Springs, but there should be one closer.
