No this is in Page, AZ. That is Glen Canyon Dam.

It was freaking cold and windy there this weekend. We woke up to a dusting of snow on the ground Saturday(most of it had melted later in the day).

Very beautiful out there...but not much to do(at least in colder months). Page is a tiny town. Lot of hotels though for summer months when everyone goes to Lake Powell.

It's all tribal land. Can't go to the slot canyons unless you are with a Native guide(costs like $60 for the cheapest tour). Horseshoe Bend you have to now park far away and pay for a shuttle to drop you off...then you hike almost a mile and a half to get to the viewpoint. They are building a massive parking lot now where visitors will have to pay to park.

I got bold and sat kinda by the edge...

Horseshoe Bend is where that teenager died a couple months ago.

Bet she was taking a selfie and just not paying attention.

I didn't take a pic of it...but someone was camping at the very bottom of the canyon right at the curved part of the horseshoe. Saw a few tents set up. I've been in warmer months and saw people kayaking the Colorado river at the bottom.

Bet that would be fun in the spring. Not too hot...not too cold.

They paved paradise And put up a parking lot
With a pink hotel, a boutique
And a swinging hot spot

Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got til its gone
They paved paradise And put up a parking lot

They took all the trees And put 'em in a tree museum
And they charged the people A dollar and a half to seem 'em

Hey Nurse.

Morning berg.

Hey Lith.

Because of Instagram and other social media....traffic to Horseshoe Bend has increased big time. The first time I went 7 years ago...it was a small parking lot. We had no problem parking and just hiked to the edge.

Same thing for the slot canyons. 7 years ago there was only one tour group you could tour with. Now there is 5.

We did see a sign in the lobby of the tour office as we waited to board the tour vehicles. You can't even drive there...they have to drive you to the slot canyons. Anyways...sign was saying how absolutely NO nude photos were allowed in the slot canyons. If you were caught taking nude pics you would be kicked out and brought back to the tour office and could face formal charges against you from the Navajo tribe.

Carnival Breeze we had 8 peeps. Cruise line was great but my wife took her mom who has to have one of those electric carts. The woman almost killed anything and everything around her. Last day she was backing out the elevator and took myself and two other peeps out. Next time she stays home

Sorry I just guessed on the dam. Looks like a blast. I have not explored that part of the country much. It looks like we might hit that area next year.

Dph, rouge, Berg

Berg we making the final 4 this year?

I missed the Kentucky game but my son was wearing his LSU hat in Puerto Rico and a older gentleman came running up to him asking him if he was going to LSU. He said No but the older guy was class of 87 and told us about beating Kentucky the night before.

Eta: holy grammar fail batman
