It’s 86 in Mayberry atm

Touring an Assisted Living facility for my dear ole demented dad this afternoon.

On one hand I’m relieved that he won’t live by himself anymore and on the other it makes me sad to see how Alzheimer’s is taking over.

I had a huge falling out with my stepdad awhile back. He ended up moving back closer to his kids but he’s done some stuff lately to think that dementia might be playing a part.

As the Alz. has progressed with my dad, he’s become more easily triggered and has had several violent outbursts.

I fear that if he lives long enough where the disease completely takes over his mind, he is going to be dangerous.

That’s super sad bc he used to be the most kind, gentle man.

Unfortunately agitation is a common symptom of dementia. I threw out all the steak knives except for one I kept in my room when I lived with my dad. He was unbearable before he got ill and it got worse from there.

I'm sure your dad will be much better off in assisted living.

Hi nurse

good morning all

it's going to be a long day, spent the majority of the evening at the childrens ER. Little man shoved a plant seed or small acorn up his nose for some reason idk what it was exactly it was

in typical ER fashion, we got there at 9pm, saw the dr at 1am and left by 110am. Didn't take any time at all by the time we got back there.

A friend of mine, her Dad was the same way. I told her to get with the Dr. Let him prescribe something to slow him down. She did. It worked. She had her Mom and Dad both at home with Alz. They both died within months of each other.

he wasn't even putting the good shite up there. I thought it was a rock at first when we looked at the house. We tried to get it out, but he shoved that sumnabitch way up there.

I hate you and your weather. That is not even remotely funny. Think of the children. We are suffering here.

Truly hurtful behavior. It hurts me, SS.
