This kid may stay in for 20. He has 2 engineering degrees and has many doors open to him. He was going to get out in 12, but may do 20 now. They are speaking to him of transferring to flying experimental planes. Good kid. Great future.

let him know he can do both, I'd advise him to get out at the 12 year mark, stay in reserves, get an airline seniority number and try to get orders back to active duty and take mil leave from the airline, he will accrue seniority and get enough retirement points to retire active duty, boom! Tricare, and check of the month club, then go to the airlines, which are paying off like a slot machine these days
