I get your example.

In my case spouse #1 puts 10% away. Spouse #2 is asked to do the same but doesn't.

In retrospect spouse #1 could have said, fine, I put 20% away ....knowing that with the disagreeable attitude of spouse #2 ....this might not last.
It's just my fault at the end of the day that I married her and put up with such BS.

This is not true.

My soon to be ex is obsessed beyond belief with out kids.

She just wants to play supermom because that's what she knows from her upbringing.

And I was in retrospect naive in thinking she would appreciate a good husband and father in the family.
Instead....she had no clue what that was like and with liberal lesbian friends (ugly btw) in her ear with ho husband's of their own and childless.....and her toxic mother around....it was a confluence of things that ended this.

I couldn't stop it no matter what.

There was no cheating. There was literally zero time for that with the kids schedules.

So in these community property states she gets equity from my first house and my retirement funds in my name and a big chunk of my bigger pension.

My divorce lawyer, in Alabama, told me that retirement is a different set of lawyers if you really want to fight. It is expensive to go into it. Unless you're ex is just an a-hole, she might not be up for that fight if you let her win the first round.
