My dad filled up some cans earlier for a generator and went back to the house and filled it up. It ran for a bit and died.

He drained the carburetor and it was cloudy as shite due to water contamination.

The Murphy Gas on ONeal in front of Walmart has gas and it is not contaminated with water.

Safe to say anything that has been underwater the past two days probably is jacked.

Be careful about the shell station on airline and highland. That was under water too so I'd wait till I hear it's ok.

Bump for pic.

We had to drain it completely and refill. Added Heet to help, but the generator continued to sputter.

The generator ran perfectly until he filled it up with gas he bought today at that Walmart.

Strange that it happened there, since I don't think they even flooded

It must have leaked into the tanks from somewhere.

The water content is high enough where it will not run small engines. I don't know about cars, though, but I would not take a chance.

If the OP is talking about the Wal Mart on Coursey by the Jones Creek intersection, it most definitely did. The parking lot was flooded.

Water does not mix with gas like that. All the water would be in a visible puddle on the bottom of the jar. Somethinges else is contaminating it.

It has a saturation point. If I had let it sit longer, it would have separated with the water on the bottom.

We had just siphoned it out of the generator tank in that picture.

Was this the first time he's had to refuel it since this flood?

Yes. He couldn't get out of his neighborhood until today.

He filled up 15 gallons from that station earlier today and all 3 cans look the same.

Gasoline is not water soluble. Ethanol most certainly is. The water and ethanol blended in that picture will fallout of solution eventually. That's called phase separation.

Ethanol blended fuel looks exactly like OP's picture when it gets water in it.
