Garage door opener problem: slipping down a few inches after opening

Our door squeaks like crazy every time it opens and closes so Sunday night I sprayed the rollers and some of the joints with WD40. So good news is it doesn't squeak anymore, but when it's done opening it slips down the track a few inches. Talked to a friend and he was convinced that my spraying the door didn't do this, but I'm sure it's a factor. I've tried wiping down the tracks and the wheels and it didn't help. The tracks are mounted to the wall by the door and not the ceiling. One suggesting I heard was the track was sagging down and that was causing it to slip.
I'm really at a loss at what to do with this. I know I have "Open More" and "Close More" knobs, so in my head the "Open More" option seems like it would be worth trying (especially since I was told that it's gravity holding the door up, not the arm), but I don't want to go messing anything more up.
Google search hasn't yielded any useful advice on this particular problem. Was WD40 just a dumb move?
I'm not super handy if that's not obvious.
TIA

probably need to you the spring tightened. I don't see how the wd40 would cause the slipping since all the weight is held by the spring tension.
And next time use white lithium grease or a grease designed for garage doors. It last longer and does not gum up like WD40 will.

What I was thinking but it was just a strange coincidence. Everything I read says it wouldn't be a factor.

only thing to WD40 was grease up a part that was binding and not letting the tension cause the slippage.

Probably have 2 springs above door and one of them is broken. the one that is not is not strong enough to hold door up on its own but strong enough to still open the door.

How old is the dor/springs?

House was built in 2009.

Probably due for a spring failure. It depends on the particular door but if you have a two car garage with on wide door getting 7 years out of a set of springs is pretty good. I'd think it is also possible the cable had an issue when it wound up in the spool and slipped as it reached the top.
