We don't do nearly enough as a society to address mental health. This is just scratching the surface. From all accounts so far, this guy was a military vet who went off the deep end, possibly from shite he saw in service. Where are the cries to improve mental health services for our military people? Or for public in general? Instead it'll just get swept under the rug as another crazy.
I have family members and friend's children that deal with severe mental health issues. Unfortunately mental health care for them in this country is put a bandaid on it until they do something horrible and then let the legal system deal with them. Mental health care for those with severe mental health issues is shameful. This type of event represents the severely mentally ill screaming for help.

What would you have them do in a situation like this?
Stop wasting billions of taxpayer dollars on the kabuki theater they call security.

Converted to Islam before joining Army
before joining the U.S. Army took on an Islamic name (Aashiq Hammad)
photo surfaced of Santiago making an ISIS salute while wearing a keffiyeh, a Palestinian Arab scarf
Ft. Lauderdale businessman and longtime resident addressed a letter to the city’s mayor and commissioners blasting county and federal officials for covering up that “Aashiq Hammad, not Esteban Santiago, attacked airport, and questioned why Sen. Bill Nelson was the first to say the name of the attacker and not law enforcement
Santiago lives in walking distance to the only mosque in Alaska, was radicalized before he entered the military
An Al Qaeda terrorist who helped plan several U.S. attacks lived in Broward County and graduated from the local community college with a degree in computer engineering. His name is Adnan G. El Shukrijumah, but he also had a Hispanic identity, Javier Robles, and for years he appeared on the FBI’s most wanted list, thus there are questions about why he chose Ft. Lauderdale, and any connections that may exist between the attacker and Broward county's Muslim population and the substantial footprint that Islam has there
