Fortunately for me my employer gives me three different schedules I can work... 4x10, 9x8, or 5x8. So if it came down to a vote to for a 4x10 mandate I would clearly vote and actively lobby against that shite all day long.

Several places around where I work have shifted to a 4-10 schedule as a cost savings measure. Much lower utility costs by reducing the work week by 20%.
It is hard on working parents...but if enough people do it, childcare providers would have to adjust as well.

I would love to work that schedule. A friend of mine who is a state worker gets to work 4/10 every other week or so.
My wife works 3/12. That's a pretty decent deal too.

I work 4/10 Tuesday through Friday. Monday fishing trips are so awesome. Ill keep my Monday off and everyone else can have friday

By 4/10 I mean Mon-Thur with a 10 hr workday.
We have a number of husbands and wives that work here, so many of them have one taking Monday and one taking Friday off, that works great for daycare.
I love it because I can golf Mondays and the idiots aren't on the course.

I would, but production would fall off even more. You can't even get 8 hours out of most employees in a day, much less 10. Most spend at least half their day fricking around on here or fantasy sports or whatever. Myself included.
