It looks like the grousers on your tracks are all but gone which is a good indicator the whole undercarriage system (tracks, rails, rollers, & idlers) are probably also worn out as well. Check your sprocket segments and if they're sharp then you know it's time for an undercarriage. But before you invest in putting a new bottom on that thing, I'd just trade it in and get a Caterpillar.

It belongs to one of my subcontractors. Knowing him, he's going to run it like that until the tracks fall off

Well to be honest, running to destruction is an option. The only downside is he won't be able to schedule his downtime to replace the undercarriage in advance. It will suck when he's on a deadline, needing that trackhoe, and he's down for what a very predictable repair.

On top of that, repairing a failed track in the field is a very expensive repair. And if he's not got it scheduled already, his downtime is probably going to be just that much longer due to shop bay availability on top of ordering in the components, which Volvo dealers are notorious for not keeping much undercarriage components in stock. I say if he does run to destruction, he'll have a good week, maybe more of downtime.

download the imgur app on your phone, then you can share via imgur, which uploads it and gives it a link.
