Understatement of the year. He respected the Brits and the US to a certain degree and actually gave our POWs some accommodations. There were no POWs on the eastern front. I read that some of the captured soldiers on the eastern front would be taken out into the middle of a field, had barbed wire fences put up around them, stripped naked then left to starve/freeze to death.
