The day Trina has been waiting for, about to finally pay off.

Not saying that at all but it is considered worse here than elsewhere

Yeah, I would run from any investment house that would even consider Argentine paper. Your investment guys must prefer deadbeats who routinely default on their obligations..
.were one of the two by any chance, run by Dick Fuld?

What you ignore in your post is that Edwards always had his hand out and business doesn’t appreciate that. At least legitimate business and that hurt Louisiana in immeasurable ways.
If a large business wanted to come to Louisiana, they had to wet Edwards’ beak. That became repulsive and garnered our state a reputation as a bad place to do business.
Edwards just saw it as the cost of doing business here. What it led to what his own downfall as the same people he surrounded himself with, who didn’t mind the bad business practice, stabbed him in the back to protect their own skin which is not surprising since they lacked the moral character to do business legitimately anyway.

No doubt he was ethically challenged at times but he did not kill people or threaten their safety.

These same business guys had no problem with it during the 70s.But what's the excuse now. Edwards and his cohorts have been out for 25 years. We have had effective Republican control since Mike Foster.

You have any citations or inside info wherein Edwin Edwards specifically ever threatened the lives or safety of anyone? Pay to play, sure. Byzantine deals that were advantageous to him personally, without a doubt.Deals that benefitted friends and supporters, of course. By the way I could name several Texans that got sweetheart deals if not out and out payoffs out of Austin and successive governors both Democrat and Republican during the past 40 -50 years. I could tell you about oil company execs that would be at the state capital early in the morning to ask....no beg for certain things and were quite willing to pay .
But Edwards was not the kind of guy to threaten someone's safety. He was a lot of things, but monster was not one of them.

Well, it sounds like we should celebrate him then. It was mostly peaceful racketeering, mail and wire fraud, conspiracy, and money laundering.

Not directly because he was a coward but there’s books out there that claim he had people do his dirty work. He also got his arse kicked at least once for messing with the wrong woman.

So no one could have done that wall of text without being corrupt as frick?

He was no boy scout on that level. He liked the women.
