Ford Pats system.. anyone ever have a problem with it?

Was flushing my radiator in my little work truck this morning, and after filling, cranking engine and letting run for a while to circulate and draining a couple times. Truck doesn't crank, doesn't even make noise. Starter solenoid doesn't even click.
Frustrated I pulled starter and brought to have tested and turns out it was weak so bought a new one. Installed and then nothing again.
Notice theft light flashing rapidly on dash. Quick Google and looks like I have to have it towed to dealership to reset truck. What kind of bullshite is this?

What? I only use this truck to travel back and forth to work. I don't feel like putting unneeded miles on my diesel.

Are you sure it's your antitheft and not a dead battery?
