I’d have taken the sticker home and put in on my brother’s bumper for shits and giggles.

Our school district was just ranked the best in the state where I live. It’s only knock in the rankings was because we have a C- in diversity.

You got that right.
I thought moving to Ascension parish for the schools was the right choice. Just 2 years into school (been here for 15) and I had enough. Daughter is in private school now and we all love it.
ETA: Its sad to watch school staff that actually cares and wants to make a difference be hamstringed by admin and board members who are addicted to federal tax money.

Ive noticed the suburban townies from Baton Rouge and Lafayette tend to wait tables or bar tend and go to music festivals

And are still doing it well into their 20s

Its a bizarre sub culture of people
i get that it's probably pretty fun fresh out of high school for a few years if that's your thing, but doing that for ten+ years is just wild to me.

it's like if i was still going to reggie's and jl's... pushing 30.

And those kids will serve as a reminder to others that you go to school to get a fricking education, not be a social justice warrior

No wonder you come off as socially awkward

No. It’s called being a fricking adult. One day when you (hopefully) grow the frick up you’ll understand.

If you can find a public school in south LA where the student makeup is from good solid families, I think private is a waste of money
In Louisiana, public schools below A or B grade should be avoided in my opinion (unless you can get them in strictly honors/gifted or a magnet). Kids thrive on competitiveness, if half of the kids are just "showing up" then the bar isn't set very high.

Strangely enough, that’s also why it’s the best in the state.
