Yeah, comparing anything pretty much anywhere to North Korea, arguably the worst country on the planet, is pointless. There is a great big pile of shite between the "bad" of the US and that of North Korea. Their entire existence is worse than our Great Depression.

Is there a better exemplar for the merits of right wing vs. left wing politics than the current contrast between North and South Korea?

The Korean Peninsula is small and geographically constant and the people were traditionally homogenous - same ethnicity, language, culture, history, etc. An imaginary line was drawn across the middle of the country with hard opposing political foundations established on each side. And now look at the results.

Left-wing dolts would always counter that places like Castro's Cuba or Soviet Russia failed because they were Cuba and Russia. But you can't make that argument with Korea.
