A few days ago I watched the movie The Ugly American (1963), in which Marlon Brando is the US ambassador to a Vietnam-like country, and must fight Communists who are trying to foment unrest.
Once again I was struck by how in those days even a liberal like Brando was openly anti-Communist. Open Communists were not allowed to enter the US, and we fought against them around the world.
Compare that to how we react today to an even older enemy, Islam. We not only do not fight them, we ENCOURAGE them to come here. Canada already has pockets of Sharia law, and it's only a matter of time before the US does.
Today is like fighting the Cold War but w/gov't, media, academia, all opnly supporting the Communists we should be fighting.
