Plywood and look around in the back of Lowes or Home Depot for pieces that were previously cut that someone left there. It is usually like 70% off at Home Depot. You're going to need slightly more than one sheet so you may luck into something. Either that or get some 1x6 boards if hauling sheets of plywood up is going to be hard. You'll need a dozen or so. 3 inch deck screws and you'll be done in about 30 minutes. If you have a pull down attic it may be worth spending a little more for ease of installation.
He needs alot more than that. He said 8.5 feet x 60 feet.
Lowes used to sell 3/4" osb tongue and groove panels that were 2' x 4'. That size is manageable to carry up the stairs. It was only a little more expensive that full sheets and the tongue and groove makes it sturdy. A full sheet that has been ripped to 2x8 is going to be heavy to get in attic.

Ah I missed that. Reading on my phone and thought it said 60 inches.

Well, just stay out of his and you will be fine.
Well done, sir.

Plywood is twice as expensive as OSB.

15 sheets of 4x8.. I would split the difference and leave a 3" gap on either side, just lay down two full sheets.

Overstatement of the year. You are a weak 1/10.

Buy a sheet of plywood and have a young teen show you how to cut a piece of wood.

May put down some outdoor carpet for putting practice as well. And a disc golf basket.
WTF kind of attic is this?
Are you talking about an unfinished room above your garage?

quote:Well, not sure how to say it. You open a door from the upstairs living room and there it is. Some space goes left and is smaller. It has the HVAC systems in there. This goes straight back and is just the space under the roof. It's the space above the car port and shop. I'm only talking about flooring the 8.5' space between the 2x4s that go up to the roof line.

Slightly more? How big are the sheets of plywood you use?

When you're done with the flooring, get a couple of rolls of this and attach to the rafters as high as you can reach. Thank me later.

Plywood down. There are no outlets up there. FIL is an electrician. I'll get with him on lighting soon.

Just use some 1x6 decking boards. It'll more sturdy and easier to get in your attic then plywood

looks good. Be sure and hydrate when you go up there to shoot your bow at 3o'clock in the afternoon.
ETA, OP needs to put "update" in OP so people aren't giving unnecessary advice.
