I am looking to refinish the engineered hard wood floors in my living room and dining area, as well as replace the carpet in my bedrooms with laminate.

Who are some good flooring companies around that I can contact?

Not all engineered hardwood floors can be refinished. Depends on thickness of veneer as well as the amount of aluminum oxide in the factory finish. If it’s a hand scraped type it can’t be refinished either.

Yeah, I recognize that which is why I want someone to look at first and tell me if it's thick enough.

In that case, I would then likely do laminate throughout.

Whatever you do. Stay away from Coco Flooring. Had to get an attorney to deal with those assholes after they screwed up my flooring following the flood.
