Yea, the Red River is small compared to the Atchafalya River and Basin. Flooding along the Red will have practically no affect Morgan City

Yeah I herd the red river has tributaries that run all the way to Canada and the snow melting and all this damn rain made a perfect storm in "flooding terms".

There are two Red Rivers. Red River of the North drains ND and MN and flows north into Canada.
Red River of the South drains part of Eastern NM, TX, OK, AR, and LA

A truck driver at work just came from Shreveport and said water is over the road on I-220 close to I49. Sounds bad, and last I heard is that the Texoma gates haven't been opened yet. That will extend flooding even longer.

The worst part is that the river won't drop below 36 feet until Saturday morning. This is a sustained event, not a crest and fall. Everything that has water in it or on it is gonna continue to do so at pretty much current levels for a week.

Just did a job in lill Rock and the Arkansas river was out of of control. 7-9 knot current and it was dropping fast as heck. Was worried that it would flood the Atchfalaya and my camp. Water is a powerful force and I worry that so many will lose so much.
