Practically everyone I know who lives in or around Baton Rouge flies out of BTR vastly more often than they do MSY
This isn’t true. And you know this isn’t true lol
Unless you’re talking about maybe one family of four and then two couples lol

What’s your source? Everyone I know that lives from N.LA down to BR flies out of MSY.
My source is my personal experience, which was all I was describing. You, on the other hand, stated that 90% of people in the region fly out of MSY over BTR. But now that we’ve established that you’re just pulling shite out of your arse, this makes vastly more sense

Your anecdotal evidence vs my anecdotal evidence is probably fairly even.
So you’re saying the majority of BR and central LA residents fly out of BR vs MSY?
Ooooooook lol

Go back and actually read our posts, in order. I described personal experience. You proposed categoricals. One of us bears the burden of proof on that, and it ain’t me

To clarify, when you said Baton Rouge and central, I believed you meant Central. I have zero idea where CENLA flies. I will say that when I lived in Lafayette, people flew out of LFT more frequently than they dragged arse to MSY, but that’s been many, many moons.

If BTR was just 100 miles further from MSY, things would be different. Most capital cities in the south need direct access to DCA for state and federal government convenience. DCA is not a connecting hub.

So there big idea was just a new campaign ? Lol

I did a price comparison for a flight on Southwest out of New Orleans in 3 weeks. The prices were about the same with the edge to Southwest. But if you are traveling by car an extra hour to get from BTR to get to MSY, that is extra travel time. The American flight, would lose once you added your luggage. (Southwest gets your 1st & 2nd bags free, American’s basic economy fares do not include baggage, you can add 70 to upgrade to main cabin for 1 free bag)
I also looked at Spirit. Spirit was a little cheaper, but once you add baggage fees (50 dollars a bag each way) and realize you are flying into BWI instead of Reagan National your savings are lost.
Jet Blue also on paper is a little cheaper, but baggage fees kills the savings of Southwest with 1st and 2nd bag free.

Please do. It significantly contradicts my anecdotal experience, so I would find that information fascinating. I’m not holding my breath, though

saving 100 bucks is not worth the 2+ hour drive and wait each way
