You honestly don't know what someone would do with an Industrial Technology degree? It was a pretty hot degree until about a year ago with all of the jobs opening in refineries, etc and the expansions happening. Still not a bad degree to have if you want to live in Texas or La.
The oil field taking a huge down turn put a big dent in job opportunities for my degree but I'm fortunate that there are many other things that I can do with it and my minors. The semester I graduated our professors apologized to us (oil prices crashed) because they knew it was going to be tough.

bullshite. Experience trumps a piece of paper.
There are some jobs that you cannot land without that piece of paper.

I don't even know WTF you'd do with that.
Work in project management, drafting/design, estimating, scheduling, etc...

While that is true, those jobs are probably not entry level, right out of college

Been denied probably 10 or 15 time strictly because of my GPA.
It all depends on how things are. If there are more jobs available GPA has less value. In the early 2000s I was hired without giving my GPA before accepting the job. It was after the fact that they asked for it just to have it on file. I know others, around the same time, who were hired because the requirements were a BA in whatever, etc. Since they met those requirements, GPA wasn't a factor.
But now I guess it is more of a filter. In general, more people are applying for the same jobs.
