Female cops sue to end physical fitness tests

Last Friday the Colorado Springs Police Department agreed to the demands of 12 female officers who filed a civil suit claiming the fitness tests are discriminatory. All the officers were over the age of 40.

wonder how long it will take for this to move over to the military? They've already got separate and far less stringent requirements for females than males there.

And while we're at it, can we please stop using entrance exams into med school? And once in school, no future doctor should have to pass a test to get his license. Those tests are discriminatory to the future doctors who aren't very intelligent.

The physical fitness tests should still be mandated, not culled completely, but maybe more forgiving?
frick, I don't know. Some of the best officers I know are female. Hell, they passed the test as is so part of me wants to leave it at that, but, you never know.

What's going to happen when one of those over 40 women have the crap beat out of them by a criminal who then takes their weapon and uses it on them?

When I went to through the academy in 2000 there was two groups for physical fitness. Those capable ran up to 7 miles. Those not capable ( mostly overweight) were allowed to just walk fast around the LSU parade grounds.
