At first I was a little disturbed because it was like he was dancing with an unaware ragdoll... then you see her smiling at the end and
quote:

With help from her adoring father, a 12-year-old girl with a rare genetic disease is dancing her way through pageants, winning trophies and stealing hearts.

Article (w/ video)

I suspect that if there were more fathers like this, the world would be a better place.

(I absolutely DGAFIAP)

I can't watch that unless someone brings me a bag of sliced onions.

Awesome. But don't you think Dad could have chosen a more appropriate wardrobe for himself in this situation? Either way.... to him

It was pretty bad at the end. I won't lie.

There are a lot of special children born into this world.
When those special children have special parents -- it's a beautiful sight. It gives a glimpse into the true nature of unconditional love.

Not gonna lie...cried watching this.

I have a 10 year old step-daughter who is confined to a wheelchair, she has Dandy-Walker Syndrome. When my wife and I got married, I danced with her like this.

I feel like if someone DOESN'T cry or at least get a little teary, they're monsters and that there's something wrong with them.

Eleven years ago I had a bad reaction to an invasive medical procedure and almost flat lined. I recall the nurse [or someone] shouting out my blood pressure. It was 30/0 and I was dying, and i knew it. At that precise moment. I heard the priest [on the left side of my bed] giving me the last rites, I heard the cardiovascular doctor and nurses shouting at me, as they struggled to bring me back, their voices becoming faint as I felt my self leaving this world. I heard my poor wife crying just outside my room as a member of the pastoral team tried to console her. My heart broke as I realized I was leaving her. Suddenly I was left in the darkness, overwhelmed with the knowledge I would not be there to love her, my children, grandchildren, friends, acquaintances, even strangers. I was made aware of the importance of my life, and felt great regret and sorrow that I had offended and hurt people, with careless words and actions.

God let me live. Thanks to God and the wonderful efforts of the cardiovacular team at my hospital I came back. I went to the edge of eternity and God brought me back. I was left with profound appreciation for life. Fast forward. Now a close family member [very close] is going through a serious crisis, and I'm there to support her and affirm her. I cannot take her pain away, but I can love and affirm her, and pay for groceries occasionally. Sadly yesterday I learned another woman [a young mother] going through the same experience, choose to take her own life, rather than face the devestation of that experience. I saw a picture of her on her obituary. A pretty smiling young women, in the prime of her life. Don't know the background of her life, but I wonder if there was anybody to help her, affirm her, and love her.

Bottom line....each day is a gift. Don't waste it with rancor and division. Be good to yourself, and love those close to you. A smile and a kind world goes a long way towards deflecting defeat, and sorrow in the lives of others. It is better to light one candle, than curse the darkness. I was in the darkness and belive me, life is good.

Merry Christmas from Baby Jesus!

Have a great day!

Great story Matrixman. Well said. I believe we all have a few moments in life where we are just about to die and somehow divine intervention gives us another shot at life. Could be a car wreck, a flu that leaves you breathless... anything. Life is precious indeed.

As a father of a special needs child, I want to thank you for saying this. I've experienced quite the opposite from several folks on here. You sir are a fine human being.
