Meet in the parking lot of the police station.

What are scams I should be aware of?
I don't know. This is the 3rd car I've sold on there and this is the first time something raised my suspicions. I'm sure the scams are similar to Craigslist ones, just trickier to pull off because you have to have a Facebook account to view the ads. Of course, making fake Facebook profiles isn't that difficult so still a risk there.
Just require cash and meet somewhere public to exchange cash and title, and you should be fine.

99.9% sure it was not a scam. He's just a self-proclaimed expert on the car I'm selling and doesn't need to see it to know he wants to buy it. He sent me a link to a Facebook group he started for that car make and model, which explains his friends list being from all over the world. He called me from the bank, and I faxed the loan officer some info she needed. Then I did some due diligence and called the branch about an hour later and spoke directly to the loan officer. She emailed a copy of what I faxed her from her bank email along with a picture of her business card. I agreed to a certified check and she said it was being drawn from the bank's funds, and since I spoke directly to her. Still probably not that smart, but I really didn't want to hold onto $4000 cash until I can get to the bank Tuesday or Wednesday, and she said it wasn't their policy to issue cash on a new loan.
I guess it could still be a scam, but it'd be a pretty elaborate one if so.
