I wonder how this will affect the helicopter hog hunters in Texas?

I hate taking the HUET class. I manage and do well but being strapped in upside down while underwater freaks me out every time.

I worked offshore for a service company in the early '80s. I flew to every job - PHI and Air Logistics. No HUET class.

I lost a friend around 1987/88, he went down in the GOM on a PHI chopper. My memory of the details are not that good, I think they found some of the bodies, but no wreckage, or my friend's remains.

Most of them are using Robinson Helicopters, they are going to die regardless.

Dunno if you’ve ever been through HUET, but going under like that is EXTREMELY disorienting. You’re trying to remember how to get out and execute tasks while upside-down and underwater, holding your breath trying not to drown, water in your eyes and flooding your sinuses, and everything that’s not strapped right to your body is floating around in a different place from where you saw it last

Recall the scene in An Officer and a Gentleman.

I think there was a lot of truths in that training scene/drowning scene.
