would it be selfish for a man and woman to have a hold through the process of surrogacy with no medical reason?

example: a women choses surrogacy to avoid the physical concequences of child birth and retain her body. does that make her selfish? does that make the man selfish or does he even have a say in this?

it kind of seems like it is a win-win for everybody, imo

Selfish as shite, sounds like something a stuck up bitch would do. Likely will be a bad mother as well

She can prove she's not selfish.

Man get's to pick the surrogate and impregnate her naturally.

Everybody wins.

Eventually it'll come back around to somehow being the man's fault if she regrets her decision, so who gives a frick?

He would also not have to deal with a hormonal, emotional pregnant wife for 9 months either.

I'd say that affects him

exactly. what's your opinion on this nurse? you are a good person to ask about this. would it be healthier for a woman to choose surrogacy over natural child birth?

I guess. But many women want to be pregnant. They want to have that bond with their unborn child. They want to experience pregnancy and childbirth.

We don't think people who adopt children instead of having their own(when they medically could) are selfish do we?

No because they are saving the life of an orphan.

Surrogacy is expensive. I would think that takes place more when the dad is adamant about it being HIS child and is not open towards adoption(assuming using a traditional surrogate where the surrogate mother is technically the bio mom).

childbirth isn't the only sacrifice of a mother. it seems like if the family could afford it, everyone would be better off

What if the mom's appearance is part of her career? Ex: Personal trainer, fitness model, whatever. I realize many of those I listed likely take breaks to have a child but if they have the money and the husband is on board....who cares?

there would no doubt be some people who would think negatively about that decision. a celebrity for example. there would almost certainly be bad press

It's like $50-100,000 expensive, right? And what if the bio mom wants to keep the baby? I guess you better hope the legal contact holds.

Yeah, I think it's selfish for physical reasons. But if that's what floats your boat, it's none of my/our business.

I was referring to other people choosing to do that, not my own wife
