She had no problem wearing this suit at a public beach. Do you really think she wouldn't remove the two, itty-bitty pieces of clothing for $55,000,000?
It's completely absurd to think she wouldn't give that money back with the quickness to make it all go away, if you've read anything about this.
Comparing that pic to what actually happened kinda shows you have no clue what the issue is here, kinda sad really.

I have never been tempted by 55 million dollars, but I don't believe for a moment I could accept that much. Moreover, I am CERTAIN I would never sue for that much (or more).

We literally have people who no nothing about the case voicing their opinions on the settlement.

If someone I love wanted that much money, I would state my feelings if I were asked, and let them do whatever it is they felt led to do. Not my decision. I would strongly disagree with that amount. What else could I say?
What's too much for y'all btw? Surely you agree 1 billion dollars is too much? So what's your "too much?"
Mine is damn sure below 55 million

We also have people that don't know anything about the case criticizing those with opinions about the information they do have, and won't offer helpful information about the topic so they would "see the light."

If you disagree with someone about a decision they make, you are by default judging their choice. You understand how that works right? It doesn't mean I would disown my daughter.. doesn't mean I wouldn't forgive that. It just means I disagree with 55 million dollars. Guys, y'all are getting pretty dramatic about all this.
Anyone ever seen the movie Payback? I feel like Carter. I keep telling the bad guys the same damn thing over and over, and it's like they don't understand the words I'm saying.
I'm saying 55 million bucks is too much for this. I am saying nothing less. I am saying nothing more.
For those of you that disagree with that, and have name called and enjoyed your knack for drama, please entertain my question: How much WOULD have been too much for Erin Andrews to have asked? 100 million? 1 billion?

Again, The Marriott had the chance to settle for far less. (arround 25 million)
Their strategy was to force EA on the stand and subject her to further humiliation.
EA asked for 75 million. She was awarded 55 million.
By paying that amount, The Marriott might not repeat their mistake.
The Marriott should tread lightly on appeal. The next jury may award full amount.

OH. OK. As long as there was an offer to settle made at some point any judgement after that is fine and immune from criticism or discussion

What is the magic amount a company as large as The Marriott should have to pay to ensure they won't repeat their gross negligence?

I don't think that amount was made public. But speculation was around 20 million.
Marriott attorneys gambled thinking EA would not take the stand. They threw snake eyes and got what they deserved.

Fair point, for sure. Idk the answer to that one. And that's a fine point in terms of the sum being reasonable on a level. I can give you that, no doubt.
I would still like a square answer on how much is too much to make on personal gain for this scenario. If anyone would play along with my question.

55 million dollars. You are an idiot.

$1
The Marriott should be fined by the appropriate authorities and that fine should go to programs to help make sure this thing doesn't happen again. Not to making Erin Andrews richer.

The damages are not awarded as personal gain
They are punitive damages awarded so the Marroitte won't repeat their negligence.
The staff knowingly put a stalker they had been made aware of in the room next door.

I'll tell you what's fricked about this.
Almost every state has a medical malpractice limit of awards allowed to injured parties. Texas is 250K economic loss for instance.
This bitch had her tits exposed and wins 55MM? Incredible.

That's like saying a coach is responsible for the behavior of a player. The coach punishes the player, no fines made... problem resolved.
In this case, Marriott should fire the employee, and the EA should press charges on him and have the court make a criminal penalty.
Or, what am I missing?

Btw, medical malpractice is always my go-to when liberals want to moan and groan about guns and gun control. That's a much larger issue than gun related deaths.... not that it's sexy enough to fit an agenda.
