quote:It used to be possible to enlist specifically for OCS - at least in the Army. Required a degree IIRC, and if you washed out, you completed your enlistment as an EM. It wasn't common, but it was possible.
Is it possible to become an officer eventually, after enlisting?
Ask a recruiter if this is still an option.
Also - regardless of the branch of service, NEVER forget that recruiters do NOT have your best interests in mind. They have theirs.
Good luck if you decide to pull the string.

Also, go 02 or 06, preferably 06.
Quit creating employees, you vulture.

You could just wait until the forthcoming military draft

I went through the whole process at MEPS, swore in, and was an OCS candidate when I was 27. Then my wife became pregnant while I was awaiting deployment. It was a no-go after that. I'll always wonder what it would have been like

Do it man. Lots of guys have.
I hope you aren't messing with drugs though because they will test you and I have seen a few guys pop positive their first day of boot.

Go for it. I joined at 23 with 76 credit hrs at LSU. Got a bonus, 3 yrs active and graduated at 28. Best decision for me. I actually regret not doing more.
