That can't be overlooked as a possibility. Those things looked like they were ceramic because they don't have any injection mold marks that I could see. As other posters noted, these can be bought in New Orleans all day long.

After looking at the differences in the two examples that are shown, I'm gonna go ahead and call BS. Those appear to be hand painted and she said they were passed down in a box sealed in bubble wrap. When was the last time anyone caught a boxed set of ceramic figurines from a Mardi Gras parade?

Made up like Lebron James house thing last year, like Michael Bennett thing in Vegas. If it’s not, and I’m 50/50 on it, I can not imagine how stupid one would have to be to throw this.

They are just figurines of old school country black people. If you see them as slaves then that's on you.
