I guarantee he is not making the same or more money than he did at the TP..
Cleveland.com is owned by the same company that owns Nola.com / T-P until sold to Georges.
My guess is Georges didn't offer him a job, so he basically accepted a transfer.

Yeah I know I worked at the TP..The Times Picayune was the flagship newspaper of the Newhouse Corp. They paid very well at the TP. When all lay offs happened in 2012 people were trying to get on at some of the other Newshouse newspapers and the pay wasn't nearly as good.

Really? That surprises me to hear. Considering how poorly they ran that paper the last 10 or so years, with the BS move to 3 days a week and the constant drumbeat of decent journalists leaving. Outside of the sports section, it's basically a glorified blog.
So, the other papers/websites are WORSE and pay less? Geez.

I am talking pre-2012..definitely pre-2008..That place printed money..They rushed the death by going to three days a week..But what really took a lot of revenue away from the TP (newspapers) was that damn Craigslist. People don't realize how much money newspapers make/made off those little ads.
